30+ volunteers from the Waltham Land Trust, New England Mountain Bike Association, and the Citizens for Lexington Conservation worked together to complete a 2/3 segment of the Western Greenway Trail. The segment of the trail is located in the woods just north of the Waltham High School. Bridges and boardwalks were also recently built at the Rock Meadow section of the Western Greenway. Trail work is currently underway at other segments of the Greenway in Waltham and Lexington. It is hoped that agreements will be reached soon for trail access on several "missing links," so that a continuous tri- community hiking trail can be put into service in the next few years.
